writing term 4 week 5

Kia ora
Here is the recount I wrote  for an Asttle writing test in Week 4.  Our teacher marked all our recounts and gave us our scores. Mine came out at Level 2a which is just below the end of year standard for Year Five. I got the worst marks for punctuation and spelling and the best marks for sentence structure.
We helped each other improve them by reading each other’s recount and talking about them. We also used Revision Assistant to help edit each other’s story and Mrs B added some notes as well. Everyone in our room likes Revision Assistant because it’s easy to understand the marks/ notes that it puts on your writing and so it’s quick for us to go and do the fix-ups.We have to make the punctuation, spelling and grammar perfect before we are allowed to publish them here. I hope someone will give me some feedback.

Paragraph Plan:
1. drive to my grandad’s
2. Presents
3. lunch

Start Writing Here:

"Yay!!!! "I said. " We’re going to Grandad’s today!" I  got up and made everyone breakfast. We got dressed and zoomed off to my grandad’s. Then we waited until my cousins arrived.

Then, it was time to open the presents so we all sat down with a drink. My grandad opened the first present and it was for Chelsea. She got a painting set.  Then he gave a parcel to my mum. She got a bar of chocolate and a GPS.

Next, Grandad gave a present to my dad. He got two packets of bullets. Next, Grandad opened another present. It was for me. I got a Nerf crossbow. Next, he opened another present. It was for himself. He got some camo gear. So, we had arrived at the last present. It was for me and Chelsea. We got a paintball gun.

Then we had to tidy up  and put the rubbish in a plastic bag.

Next we had some food and a drink and we went home. We had an awesome day.
